All Stars Rotterdam HP

Let op: deze minor heeft een selectieprocedure. Lees de ingangseisen goed door voordat je je inschrijft.

Think differently and dare to jump!

All Stars Rotterdam will turn high-potential students (both honours students ánd students who do not participate in an honours programme) into the expert problem-solvers that are needed by many companies and institutions. The demand is high for young professionals who can truly apply their knowledge to real and multi-disciplinary challenges. After this programme you definitely will have a great CV! Please visit www.case-academy.nl.

Therefore, you will be extensively trained to function in a high-performance team and to deeply understand accelerated problem-solving methods and skills. Real managers' strategic problems will be presented to you in the form of cases full of challenges. You and your team will analyse these challenges and then convince the company managers (they are the "problem owners") of the quality and feasibility of your innovative solutions.

"Participating in case competitions helped me perform better and more structured under pressure, taught me to trust my own knowledge and pushed me to think of the most innovative solutions to help companies grow" -  Student.

During AND after this extensive training period, you will be given an opportunity to prove yourself in one or more international case competitions against students from the best universities around the world. On top of that, you will build up an international network and meet new friends. Furthermore, you will take the position of a problem-owner by writing one or more cases for and with a real manager. And last but not last, you will manage a student-run organisation responsible for a big case event at our own university.

"Only since having participated in Case Competitions I have really felt ready for the labor market. 80% of the acquired knowledge cannot be gathered from a book. Essential skills in collaboration, time management, top performance skills can only be learned in practice; skills for which an intensive Case Competition is perfectly suited" - Student.

The willingness to be part of a high-performance team, to exceed yourself and to constantly improve yourself is KEY. Your ambition to grow in essential skills should be the engine of your performance. Therefore, you will be screened in a selection procedure (early spring). Don't let the selection procedure prevent you from applying! We will start the selection process on time, so in case you will not be selected, you can still register for another minor. Therefore please register as soon as possible for this minor, because we will organise the first round of selection before the minor registration deadline (and the second after this deadline). For questions about the selection process and timing, please send an e-mail to case-academy@hr.nl.

Leerdoelen

In All Stars Rotterdam, you and your fellow students are in the lead. This requires intrinsic motivation, a solid understanding of your stronger and weaker points, in-depth reflection on your own performance and high-level teamwork. Furthermore, All Stars Rotterdam requires a thorough insight into the strong and weaker points of your team. This means you will take action to fill in any gaps in knowledge or expertise. You will be supported by intensive team coaching and (central) interventions by a coach.

"Participating in a case competition means on the one hand transcending your own discipline in order to make a coherent strategic plan with your team, on the other hand excelling in your own discipline to contribute in detail to the plan. In addition to this intellectual challenge, you are in a constant character battle within yourself, together with your team and against other teams from - often renowned - international universities" - Student.

The programme draft is co-designed by the coaches, however, it will be constantly adapted to the wishes and needs of the students; gaps in skills become visible over time and must be closed to enable good (team)performance.

All Stars Rotterdam is centered around those business skills companies see as the most important. Therefore, young professionals should have an antenna for innovation (innovation driven), be aware of trends and developments (demand driven), be excellent team players (collaborative working) and seek lifelong learning (interactive learning) whilst also willing to share their insights with others (knowledge creation). These skills are "essential" and match with the 5 Honours Competences.
