International Markets Orientation

When you might be considering starting your own company abroad, there is a tremendous amount of opportunities, but which should be chosen? Awareness about foreign markets, different cultures, new investment opportunities, all these elements you might have to find out before investing abroad.
In this module you will be working in PBL settings, on the subjects like entrepreneurship, international marketing, market entry strategies, cultural differences, country analyses and related subjects.
The module offers you various PBL tasks on the mentioned subjects together with other educational formats, like working in small project groups on the module assignment related to international business, consisting of an extended case study in two parts. The end product will be a marketing and management plan for exporting to a country.
Design an export marketing plan for a major or medium sized excising company.
Apply a proven professional method for analyzing an existing retail company (group work).
Handle project work (including multicultural aspects) in a professional way and to apply professional knowledge about project management in a project Communicate information, ideas, problems and solutions specialist audiences by means of briefings and presentations.

In order to fully prepare you for your Kies op Maat study at Stenden, two introduction days -together with incoming exchange students from abroad- are scheduled. During these days you will get a campus tour, meet teachers and staff, learn how to use (ICT) facilities on campus and you will be introduced to the student life. Moreover, we offer an introduction to our learning system: Problem Based Learning (PBL). Understanding the PBL system is fundamental for your successful study experience at Stenden. Therefore we expect you to be present these two days.
Passed Foundation Year in any course in the field of commerce or business administration.
