International Food Logistics (AIFL)

How would you like to be responsible for the well-being of people and animals all over the world? Just wondering, because the international food sector is in dire need of people who are cool, calm and collected enough to manage global food supply chains. You see, international circular and sustainable agrifood supply chains are under serious pressure from an increased consumers’ demand for added value; cost pricing; and a reduced availability of sustainable foodstuffs. Luckily, our International circular and sustainable agrifood supply chains minor will prepare young professionals like you to optimize international agrifood business.

What does managing international circular and sustainable agrifood supply chains involve?
Managing agrifood supply chains is not what it used to be. To ensure foodstuffs make it through the production process and end up as high quality food products in consumers’ kitchens, supply chain managers have to overcome many challenges on the way. These come in the form of food waste prevention, circumventing traffic jams, realizing UN Sustainability Development Goals, cost reductions, shortages, international regulations and constantly changing consumer needs. These are overcome with the development and implementation of new strategies, often with the use of new technologies.
