In deze Engelstalige module ga je, samen met internationale en interdisciplinaire studenten, aan de slag met het thema Veiligheid in de maatschappij.

Je ontwikkelt een Multi-perspectieve kijk op veiligheid. Thema's als veiligheid in gezinnen, veiligheid en kwetsbare doelgroepen, veiligheid en criminaliteit komen aan bod.

De module is in samenwerking met Finland ontwikkeld

The students

Understand and are able to work with the concept safety (on individual, extended families/groups, community and (inter)national level)

Understand and are able to use different theoretical models of deviant behavior, rehabilitation, recovery and desistance and how they relate to safety

Understand and are able to use knowledge about law and legislation regarding safety in the Netherlands, Finland and Europe

Developed a multi-perspective view on safety and what is means for professionals, clients and society

Developed skills for crisis management which are needed to be able to deal with stressful and challenging situations

Developed skills needed to be able to communicate and support decision-making with clients and groups

are able to build a working alliance with the clients based on human rights principles and the identity of the client

are able to make a risk and needs assessment, including the perspective and responsivity of the client

Understand the multi-professional way of working regarding safety and knows the chain partner institutions and context

Understand and are able to use different interventions and methodologies related to safety issues

Admissions requirements
•    The level of your prior education has to be equivalent to a Higher General Secondary Education level (Dutch H.A.V.O.) and English or Pre-University Level (Dutch V.W.O.) 
•    In addition to the minimum diploma requirements, At least one year of university of university of applied science is the field of Social work, Nursing, Para-medics, Public Health nursing, Physiotherapy, Safety, Law, Pedagogy, Psychology is required. Other fields can apply but will have an intake so that it can be assessed whether the training is sufficiently in line with the program content

4.Organization of one day blended conference for other students, teachers and professionals (practical arrangements, keynote speaker(s) and content- own workshops: Presentation of the groupwork and summary of the arguments (theoretical frameworks and practices) – including presentation of the group
