International Economics and Globalization

People and organizations around the globe have become more connected to each other than ever before and rapid globalization is posing a number of complex opportunities and challenges. Think of the increasing international nature of financial crises, climate issues, increased competition, intercultural sensitivity and an array of regulatory standards. But also the more recent anti-globalization topics (with international consequences) such as BREXIT and the trade war between China and the United States. These developments have been forcing many companies to rethink their business model.

This minor offers a well-rounded understanding of the pros and cons of globalization-related topics through training sessions and lectures, multidisciplinary assignments and associated field trips. The minor consists of the courses International Economics, Cultural Intelligence and International Corporate Strategy. Along these courses you will work on an integrated assignment. Whenever possible, a collaborative online international learning (COIL) is organized with universities abroad, to enhance your international experience.
