Structure of the minor

From idea to design

In this first part of the semester, you will lay the foundation for innovation in sports management. You will learn how to develop a product or concept and how to convert ideas into concrete results. The goals:

  • Design an MVP (Minimal Viable Product)
In cooperation with a client from the sports industry, end users and other stakeholders, you develop a product that promotes well-being, health and sports. This can have both a commercial and a social purpose. You work your way through the phases empathize, define and ideate to arrive at a meaningful design.
  • Create an international experience concept
Design and organize a multi-day meaningful outdoor-sports concept that brings people together and inspires them. You work with a focus on experience, where your ideas come to life in an impactful and unforgettable experience.
  • Opportunity to obtain your Fitness Trainer A diploma (optional)
Deepen your knowledge with an officially recognized diploma that makes you immediately employable as a fitness trainer. A valuable addition to your profile!

From prototype to implementation

In the second part of the semester, the focus is on further developing and realizing your ideas. You continue to work on your prototypes and put your concepts into practice. The goals are:

  • Further development and marketing
Transform your design into a meaningful product or service that is ready for implementation and commercial and/or social success. You sharpen your prototype and test it extensively to arrive at a high-quality end result.
  • Executing and evaluating your experience concept
Organize and actually execute your multi-day outdoor-sports experience concept. Afterwards, you evaluate the results to learn and improve. Your project will thus have a direct impact.
  • Personal reflection and growth
During the semester, you keep an individual game plan (portfolio) in which you record your personal development and the highlights of the program.
