Educating the world
During this minor, you will learn about and experience education in the Netherlands against the backdrop of global citizenship in education all around Europe and the globe.
Your minor trajectory will culminate in the design of a number of (online) educational resources on aspects of global citizenship and may include a short practicum.
Minor contentThis minor is modeled on the principles of Design-Based Education; on the basis of the assignments chosen, a wide range of (guest) lectures, workshops and excursions will be offered about the European agenda on education and other priorities. Besides, you will learn about the design and development of educational ICT.
You will work towards the following Learning outcome:
To complete this minor you will demonstrate that you have acquired a thorough sense of what it means to be a teacher in a European and Global context, both on the basis of desk research, personal experience and design carried out in an international community of practice.

The minor consists of a number of Windows that have all been designed to offer you excellent opportunities to collect evidence for your portfolio and to create an immersive intercultural and international experience for you with a focus on educational innovation.
The minor has the following windows :
- Sharing classroom dilemmas in an international context (5ECT)
- Online mentoring on a safe international platform for K12 students(5 ECT)
- Flipped Classroom (10 ECT)
- Teaching the world (10 ECT)

Toetsing
The assessment of the minor consists of two parts :
- You will present an online portfolio in which you have compiled evidence to demonstrate the required learning outcomes.
- After your portfolio has been approved you will present your learning journey to your peers and assessors.
