Teaching English

In the exciting world of international education all teachers are language teachers. We provide the unique opportunity to strengthen your teacher profile through our EAL minor.

In this minor students will improve their own knowledge and proficiency of English and apply that knowledge to be able to teach English as an additional language, specifically in an international context.

This minor is offered by the English department of ITESS (International Teacher Education for Secondary Schools).

Minor content

In this minor, you will learn how languages are learned and taught. What can you do as in class to help your students improve their English? What is the role of e.g. skills and grammar? Should you even teach grammar or can we skip that and just communicate together? How can you cater to students with different learning needs and language backgrounds? How do you set up a good language lesson?

All this questions, and more, are answered in the courses that you take within this minor. At the end, you will have the knowledge and skills to create and teach your own English lessons.
