Cross-border Migration, Governance and Security - Global Perspective

Migration is everywhere in today’s world: in the news, in political debates, and in the lives of millions of people. But what drives migration, what dilemmas arise from it, and how can societies respond? If you are curious about the big picture—how global trends, ethical debates, and local realities come together—Block 1 of this minor offers the perfect entry point.

Minor content

In this block, you will study migration in a broad, comparative way. A knowledge programme introduces you to the foundations of migration studies, drawing on key literature and case studies. At the same time, you will work in a group on a real-life research project for a client, where you investigate a current migration-related issue and propose actionable solutions. Skills courses in cross-cultural negotiation and multidisciplinary project management help you develop the tools needed to work effectively across borders and professional fields. Short workshops further support your academic and professional growth.
