Technology and media Literacy (15EC), locatie Leeuwarden
In this minor, you develop yourself as a designer of digital learning products, with a strong focus on digital literacy. You work on designing digital learning tools, supporting the development of digital skills in others, digital creation, media literacy, and responsible use of AI. Starting from a real educational context, you initiate a focused improvement in which technology is used in a meaningful way. This practice-oriented and future-focused minor helps you strengthen your own digital competences and learn how to use technology to improve learning – both with and about technology.
Learning Outcome of the Minor:
Based on a context analysis of an educational organisation and a relevant theory, you demonstrate a goal-oriented change process related to digital literacy. You design and initiate an actual improvement and develop it into a tested and evaluated prototype within an authentic professional context. During this process, you show leadership by actively involving colleagues.
In this minor, you follow workshops focused on designing, creating, and implementing digital products, as well as workshops related to digital literacy. Topics include media literacy, working with AI in educational contexts, digital creation, programming, and the design of digital learning materials. The workshops provide technical, practical, content-related, and didactic depth.
In addition, you are supported in working on a concrete practical question from an educational setting. You follow the steps of Design-Based Education, focusing on analysis, design, development, testing, and evaluation. You apply the acquired knowledge and skills directly in an authentic educational context.
