Next Gen Leadership (15 EC)
This minor focuses on how your behaviour influences that of others. You will experience this through "serious games," field trips, and by creating an impact for a real-world client. The minor centres on your leadership skills, including self-leadership. You will learn about psychology, philosophy, and ethics, as well as gain practical insights into economics and organization.
In an unpredictable world, we need people who can handle uncertainty. We are going to practice exactly that. By the end of the minor, you will be able to engage others, collaborate effectively, communicate clearly, and make sound decisions—and you will have the self-confidence to put those skills into action.
Minor contentThe content of this minor lies at the intersection of psychology, philosophy, and organisational and business complexity. It consists of practical insights from experienced experts in these fields. The learning material is consistently linked to experiences, simulations, guest speakers, or concrete assignments. This minor helps you think critically about your career path and the impact you want to make.
On Mondays and Thursdays, practical sessions are filled with simulations, guest speakers, exercises, and workshops. These are linked to a practical assignment that you will work on with your peers on Tuesdays. In addition to these contact hours, we expect you to work independently on your deliverables. These deliverables consist of a "moral compass," a student-led seminar, and various components of the practical assignment. You will also be required to conduct research for this assignment. Consequently, this minor serves as a pre-master's for Sustainable Entrepreneurship at the University of Groningen (requires a minimum final grade of 7).
