International Music Management is designed for students who want to dive deep into the business side of the global music industry.

Leerdoelen
During the International Music Management minor, you’ll explore key topics in Recorded Music, Publishing & Licensing, Live Events, Branding, and Music Law. You’ll:
• Pitch your own individual research proposal to improve or innovate a part of the industry.
• Join a group to develop an International Music Business Concept (IMBC).
• Present your concept at the final Knowledge Experience Day event.
• Prepare for an individual oral exam in Music Industry & Copyright Law, where you’ll act as a professional stakeholder and negotiate a licensing deal based on a real business case.
Along the way, you’ll attend expert workshops, join music business field trips, and visit leading events like Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) or Popronde.
Ingangseisen
This minor is open to all students with an interest in the business, legal, and strategic side of the music industry. A basic understanding of the music ecosystem is helpful but not required. You’ll need motivation, curiosity, and a willingness to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

You’ll follow a structured weekly schedule with lectures, practical workshops, guest sessions, and group project time. Midway through the semester, you’ll focus on exam preparation, and the final weeks are dedicated to presentations, event organization, and completing your written project deliverables.
Toetsing
Assessment consists of individual and group components. You’ll be graded on:

Your individual research pitch and participation.

Your role in developing the group’s IMBC, presented both orally and in writing.

The oral exam in Music Industry & Copyright Law.

Your contribution to organizing the end-of-minor Knowledge Experience Day.
Feedback is provided throughout the semester through coaching and professional mentoring.
