Why Event Experience is right for me
• If you’re passionate about designing creative and impactful events.
• If you want to develop into an all-round event professional who both thinks and acts.
• If you’re looking for a practical minor with real clients and tangible outcomes.
Leerdoelen
During Event Experience, you’ll design, produce, and evaluate a live event for a real-world client. Working in an event agency-style team, you’ll take on a role that fits your strengths and interests. The “team track” takes you through all phases of event production: from concept and pre-production to execution and evaluation. In the “insight track,” you’ll build a personal portfolio that includes an event analysis, expert interview, and reflections on your learning goals. You’ll develop both technical knowledge and soft skills in collaboration, planning, leadership, and communication.
Ingangseisen
This minor is intended for students who have a basic understanding of event management and design thinking. If you already have experience organizing events or have a strong interest in the field, this is the perfect opportunity. If your experience is limited, it is expected that you prepare by studying relevant literature and tools before the start of the minor.
Rooster
The minor is structured around intensive team collaboration, supported by workshops, lectures, and coaching. In the first phase, the focus is on research and concept development. In the second half, you move toward actual event execution. You’ll also work on personal assignments throughout the semester. Flexibility is key — you’ll often work on location and coordinate planning outside scheduled sessions.
Toetsing
Assessment is based on both team and individual performance. In your group, you’ll deliver a complete event and present it to your client. Individually, you’ll compile a portfolio of deliverables, reflections, and practical assignments. Evaluation will focus on your professional growth, subject knowledge, teamwork, and initiative. Regular feedback and coaching throughout the semester support your development.
