Hospitality Management (ENG) - 2025-2026

Hospitality Management is designed for students who want to learn how to create and innovate meaningful guest experiences.

Discover the world of hospitality in the Hospitality Management minor! This hands-on programme offers a unique blend of theory and practice: you'll develop your own hospitality concept, conduct a mystery visit, and collaborate with leading organisations in the field. Through practical assignments, guest lectures, and field trips, you’ll learn how to analyse, improve, and reimagine hospitality. Whether you're working in a hotel, theme park, or city centre, this minor will make hospitality your second nature.

Project Examples
• Hospitality at EuroParcs and Westcord Hotels: Investigate how to improve the guest experience and offer practical recommendations.
• Mystery Visit at a Hospitality Venue: Analyse the customer journey from a guest’s perspective and design a concept to improve it.
• Hospitable City Centres: Explore how cities can create inviting environments for residents, visitors, and businesses.

Why Hospitality Management is right for me
• If you’re passionate about making people feel welcome and surprised.
• If you want to grow into a hospitality professional with vision and boldness.
• If you’re looking for an experience-rich minor filled with hands-on practice and real-world inspiration.

Leerdoelen

During this minor, you’ll develop a sharp view on hospitality across various contexts. You’ll learn how to analyse hospitality strategies, map guest journeys, and design improvement proposals. You’ll carry out a mystery visit, write an advisory report, and develop a hospitality prototype. You’ll also organise a small event or excursion.

Workshops will cover themes like hostmanship, hotel management, and social hospitality, helping you build professional knowledge and personal growth. By the end of the minor, you'll be able to critically assess and innovate hospitality practices from multiple perspectives.

Ingangseisen

This minor is open to all bachelor students with an interest in hospitality, customer experience, and service design. A keen eye for detail, a warm presence, and a desire to use hospitality as a powerful tool are important. Previous experience in service is a plus, but not required.

Rooster

The programme includes a combination of workshops, guest lectures, project sessions, and hands-on assignments. You’ll work individually and in teams. There are structured class sessions, but you’ll also work off-site—for example, during field visits or self-organised excursions. The schedule allows space for personal exploration, experimentation, and reflection.

Toetsing

Assessment is based on a mix of practical assignments, presentations, personal reflections, and group contributions. Key deliverables include the mystery visit report, the hospitality prototype, and an advisory report. You’ll also be evaluated on your ability to identify trends, innovate, and demonstrate a professional mindset. Built-in feedback sessions throughout the programme support your development.
