About this minor

The minor Doing Business in Africa offers a dynamic, hands-on learning experience focused on East Africa’s thriving business landscape. You will work on real consulting projects for local businesses, gaining practical insights into the region’s economic transformation. Engage with inspiring guest lecturers—successful African entrepreneurs who share their expertise first-hand. Through cross-cultural teamwork and networking with industry professionals, you’ll explore sustainable business models and discover what it takes to succeed in Africa’s evolving markets.

What Will You Learn? 

This minor combines academic knowledge with practical experience through five key modules: 

• ACS: African Culture and Society (5EC) – Understand the social, cultural, and historical dynamics that shape business in Africa. 

• ABE: Local African Business Environment (5EC) – Explore economic policies, market trends, and investment opportunities. 

• ABGC: African Business in a Global Context (5EC) – Analyze Africa’s role in global trade, economic growth, and international business partnerships. 

• ABP: African Business in Practice (5EC) – Apply your skills to real-world business challenges in African markets. 

• ACO: African Business Consulting (10EC) – Work on a live case study for an East African company and present solutions to real entrepreneurs. 

Throughout the programme, you'll engage in interactive guest lectures, portfolio assessments, debates, and consulting projects.
