Advanced Technology in Sports
In the minor “Advanced Technology in Sports” students will get an in-depth look into the use of modern technology to quantitatively analyze sports performance. The minor focusses on sports measurement systems, human movement analysis and biomechanics.
Leerdoelen
Motion analysis
The student is able to record, quantify and analyse various parameters related to kinematics and kinetics using registration techniques.
The student is able to analyse movement using theoretical, biomechanical models.
Tests and research
The student is able to design a research setup in the field of kinetic technology, including both the use of a theoretical model (literature study and model creation) as well as applied research.
The student is able to perform measurements and analyse results to answer a research question.
Consultancy and advice
The student is capable of providing advice and information regarding activities related to kinetic technology, kinetic technology products and designs.
Coordination and assistance
The student is capable of assisting and coordinating activities of multidisciplinary teams involved in issues related to human kinetics.
Communication
The student is capable of performing a literature study on a subject related to the profession. Is also capable of summarizing the most important conclusions of this research in a readable and structured manner.
Ingangseisen
All (external) students must have an admission interview with the coordinators. This interview will focus on background in mechanics and computer programming
External participants will be contacted immediately after the first round of registration. The interview is advisory in nature. We want to inform students well about the content of the program, but leave the final choice of whether or not to participate to the students.
Rooster
10,5 hours per week (in the first 7 weeks)
Full time group work on the project in the last 3 weeks (contact hours: 6h/week)
Toetsing
The minor is completed with 3 test components, which can be found in the OLP and OSIRIS.
TOETS01 - portfolio assessment - ASSESSMENT -33% - grade - Testmoment; b1
TOETS02 - project - GROEPSOPDR - 33% - grade - Testmoment; b1w7
TOETS03 - theoretical assessment - SCHRIFT - 33% - grade - Testmoment; b1w10
All components should be higher than a 5.5
