As markets evolve towards increased globalization, free trade, and right-shoring, a growing interest arises in being able to repurpose and reshape global supply chains that are characterized by both resilience and responsibility. 

In your capacity as future business leaders, we will teach you how to make rapid decisions, and take immediate actions to sustain business operations to serve their customers, clients, and communities in the event of supply chain disruptions, like with the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The minor in Sustainable International Logistics and Supply Chain Management is unique in that it offers a cross-disciplinary education, combining the core topics of logistics and supply chain management like Procurement, Operations, and Distribution in an international business context. 

You will gain deep theoretical knowledge, and understanding of the supply chain network and its development, as well as of the tools needed to analyze, develop and hands-on change such supply chains. This includes a module dedicated to Lean Six Sigma (including an internationally recognized Yellow and/or Green Belt certificate), guest lectures from leading experts in the field, real-life cases and an International Case Competition. 

Further, you will actively participate in a real-life international applied research project, exploring how the logistics industry can use sharing economy concepts on existing urban freight transport themes to improve sustainability, quality of service, and efficiency.

Prerequisites

As outlined in the Rotterdam University Handbook (2018-2019) on HINT, to be eligible for access to a minor program (HRBS) student must earn 168 credits. These credits are broken down as follows: - (First-year study program completion (60 credits); - Second-year study program completion (60 credits); - Placement completion (30 credits); - At least 18 credits earned during the semester. To safeguard the unique international / inter-cultural / multi-disciplinary character of our Minor Sustainable International Logistics and Supply Chain Management, we stick to the optimal division of students from different institutes (60% IBMS, 20% Exchange, 20% other institutes), as this is a key ingredient in the recipe for success of our Minor.

From the portfolio of assessments available to us, for each of the six courses, one or more assessments have been chosen that fit the learning objectives of the course itself and motivates both students and teachers to maximize the aspired outcomes and grades. Submit this learning agreement to the Exam Board of your study programme.
