High Performance Sport
The minor High Performance Sport focuses on the management aspects within the world of high performance sport. The HPS minor is striving for excellence and students will be taught in such an atmosphere.

What does it take to successfully operate in a high performance sport context? This is the main question students will get to answer during the High Performance Sports (HPS) minor. During the first quarter, students will get a full understanding of what does the world of HPS looks like. Students will learn about how (inter)national sport federations and commercial organisations dealing with High Performance Sport are run, governed and managed.
During the second quarter, students will find out for themselves what it takes to manage and lead in HPS.

A variety of literature will be used ranging from peer reviewed articles to books.
Rooster
In both quarters 6 lectures of 100 minutes per week divided over 3 days.
- Quarter 1: 7 weeks x 6 lectures x 100 minutes = 70 hours
- Quarter 2: 7 weeks x 6 lectures x 100 minutes = 70 hours
- 2 written exams of 1 hour each and 2 written exam of 1,5 hours each = 5 hours
- Fieldtrip abroad= 32 hours (est.)

1 re-take per exam per academic year
If a student fails to successfully complete the minor in the period in which she took the minor it is possible to finalize the minor in a following period in which the minor is given.
If a minor is no longer offered or in case the minor is rewritten, the degree programme will offer students a further two opportunities to finalize this minor in the following year.

Costs:
The costs for books will be around € 120 (if purchased new). A study trip abroad will be organised to learn about a specific international high performance sports environment. A personal contribution of max. € 500 should be taken into account for this study trip.
Applications will be processed in order of receipt signed learning agreements.
