Fashion & Entrepreneurship

This programme invites you to develop a sustainable and/or circular fashion concept. A concept that can be brought to life and become a viable business in the future. This semester you will unravel if your fashion idea if feasible by analysing the market, competitive field, users and community. Once you have found a gap in the market, you will start designing your product/service, developing your brand and creating a relevant and inspiring business proposition.

This programme will guide you through the inspiration, ideation and implementation phases, during which you will create prototypes and test these before creating a final proposition. You will be asked to collaborate with other students from all graduation specialisations to combine the varying perspectives to enrich your brand concept.

Students will gain not only understanding as to what is needed to create a new brand concept but also the mindset and skills required to become an Entrepreneur.

Leerdoelen

Research: Students will research and analyse the market and product/service potential from all perspectives to ensure a viable business case and concept. Students will also research what entrepreneruship means for them and which role suits them in a start-up and intrapreneurship context.

Decision making: Based on their research, students will make critically evaluated choices about their product/service design, branding and business proposition. By pinpointing unmet needs and validating market demand, students take decisions to ensure their prototypes align with real-world opportunities.

Realisation: Students will apply their research and decisions to create a convincing product/service prototype, brand and business proposition. Students embrace experimentation and reiteration of ideas, designs and prototypes.

Presentation: Students are able to clearly communicate their ideas visually and verbally to convince varying stakeholders of their concept and proposition. The product/service design, branding and business case are presented as a coherent whole.

Organisation: Students can plan and organise their work to achieve deadlines and work systematically to achieve all the goals. 

Reflection: Students have good self-awareness and critically reflect on the development and results of their business proposition, as well as themselves as entrepreneurs.

30 ECTS divided into two parts;

15 ECTS - Concept Insights Professional product

15 ECTS - Final proposition Professional product

Resit opportunity:

Two exam attempts in the academic year. Dates to be determined.
