What is it all about? & What’s in it for me? (max 150 words)
You will design, produce and market esports events from concept to execution. In the first half you create your own on-campus esports event. In the second half you work for an external client and become part of their event team.
You learn strategy, production, marketing and business in the context of gaming and esports. You work together with students from different disciplines and backgrounds. By doing real projects for real partners, you build a professional portfolio and practical experience in events, media and esports.

You stand out as a young professional with practical experience in esports events, strategy and production. You are prepared for roles such as event manager, project manager, marketer, or business developer in esports, gaming, and live experiences.

Contact hours and format
Most education is offered in a hybrid format: students can participate on campus or online via Teams. Physical attendance on campus is strongly recommended for collaboration and practical work.
Mandatory on-site presence is required for:
- The hands-on workshop to learn how to use the livestream equipment
- The execution days of the GameDay esports events
All other lectures, workshops and feedback sessions can be followed either on campus or online. A significant part of the workload consists of group work and project work outside scheduled class hours.

Topics and Structure of the minor
Structure:
- Bootcamp (2 weeks)
Introduction to esports, events and media production. Teams create and pitch their event concept.
- Knowledge components (6 weeks)
Weekly themes on strategy, business, production and legallaw. Teams organise their on-campus GameDay esports event.
- Industry assignment (second half)
Teams work for an external client to produce and deliver a professional esports event under BUas supervision.
