Part I (15 ECTS) includes the following topics:
Statistics I (4 ECTS)
- To gain clear understanding of the way of thinking of statistical inference.
- To get acquainted with a large variety of statistical techniques
- To be able to utilize the technique on statistical problems with the help of the computer package SPSS
Research Methods (5 ECTS)
- Develop knowledge and skills to be able to carry out scientific research. Develop knowledge and skills to read research reports with healthy skepticism.
Academic Skills (6 ECTS)
- To make a contribution to the development of an academic attitude of students. Students will learn how they can find, can judge and can use articles from relevant academic journals.
Leerdoelen
To close the gap regarding knowledge about research and attitude towards performing and participating at a research project between the HBO, being practical research, and the university, being academic research
Ingangseisen
Specific prior knowledge required: completed first year, good academic results and the necessary prior knowledge of statistics, command of the English language
Selection is based (primarily through self-selection) on a set of six central entrance tests covering statistics, research techniques theory, English and motivation.

Rooster
Academic Skills: weekly sessions of approximately 90 minutes are student-led in English. Students are expected to prepare tutorial materials before class, and may need extra time for self-study and peer review outside of class.
Business Statistics: weekly sessions starting with a lecture of approximately 120 minutes and afterwards practical statistics meeting using SPSS and Excel.
Business Research Methods: students’ lead lecturers.
Attendance, including participation, is taken into account in the assessment.
Contact hours: spread throughout the week during the day.
