Diversity, Inclusion and You (EN)
This minor focuses on exploring your experiences and identity in relation to Diversity and Inclusion. What does this mean to you? And how is it related to societal topics such as climate change, the changing labour market and the SDGs? By exploring your personal relation to diversity and inclusion and understanding how you position yourself in relation to others, you will learn about your own and people’s behaviour and add new ways of working to your toolbox. The minor builds on these foundations to explore decision-making, creativity and cooperation and places this in the larger context of international societal challenges.
Minor contentThe minor will discuss identity, self-awareness and help you understand how your personal experiences and group memberships have formed you. From this starting point, you will discover the role of biases, prejudice and stereotyping. By learning to look at things from different perspectives and by empathising with others, you become aware of our own personal biases and how to overcome them. Here is where you learn what diversity and inclusion is and how it impacts you and your position in society. Through exploring the concepts of resistance, agency and deep democracy, the minor aims to contribute to a better world.
