3D Hypercraft

In 3D Hypercraft, you will explore how fashion, identity, and meaning are constructed through creating with digital technologies.

The main goal of this programme is to research and create innovative and meaningful digital advancements in fashion, using Research Through Design (RtD) as a central methodology. As a participant, you will work on real-world questions and dilemmas, applying digital technologies to address contemporary challenges in fashion. You will express yourself through assignments that involve incorporating and blending multiple digital technologies. To drive innovation, experimentation and creative research are key components of this minor. Research Through Design emphasizes a hands-on, iterative approach to exploring and creating, enabling you to generate insights through the process of making.

By gaining a valuable understanding of the theoretical context of digital technologies, you will find inspiration and develop the ability to critically evaluate both your own work and that of others. This process will also deepen your understanding of the value and ethical implications of the digital and technological creations you envision, fostering a reflective and critical perspective on their applications in fashion.

Leerdoelen

Research: independently and creatively apply appropriate research methodologies to analyze and interpret historical, socio-economic, cultural, and technological challenges in fashion. You will demonstrate a critical and curious attitude, integrating awareness of sustainable options to contribute to new perspectives and make meaningful decisions.

Decision-making: autonomously make decisions in complex contexts based on research conclusions. These decisions will reflect societal, ethical, and aesthetic considerations and will enable you to formulate clear and well-founded starting points for realizing (digital)fashion-related products.

Realisation: leverage independently acquired technical (digital) knowledge and skills to design, create, or adapt fashionrelated products in a creative, professional, and convincing manner. These products will reflect your personal vision, align with industry standards, and make a meaningful contribution to the fashion industry.

Presentation: effectively present fashion-related products to relevant audiences in a convincing and personal manner. You will select and use the most appropriate presentation methods for the given context, demonstrating the ability to engage with the audience, facilitate discussions, display ownership, and communicate in their own style.

Organisation: efficiently and autonomously organise all phases of the creative cycle to achieve the best results in complex contexts. You will identify and collaborate with relevant stakeholders, professionally manage the process, and demonstrate ambition, creativity, and flexibility throughout.

Reflection: continuously reflect on your progress and incorporate feedback to guide your professional, personal, and creative development. You will assess the quality of your work against applicable industry standards, integrating relevant social, ethical, and aesthetic aspects, and will demonstrate a critical, enterprising, and responsible attitude by intervening and improving where necessary.
