Teaching in English - The Bilingual Classroom
Bilingual education aims to broaden horizons for pupils at school, across cultures and beyond national boundaries. During this semester, you will be studying in English alongside primary, secondary and vocational teachers in training from other countries. You will gain experience teaching your subject in English. You will develop cross-curricular materials, by cooperating with both subject and language teachers and develop insights into the role language plays in both the learning process and assessment.. By using the language to teach and learn, and processing regular feedback, you will fine tune the skills a teacher in bilingual education needs. You will also learn about the intersections of society and culture and how these influence our sense of identity and our language use. In summary, you will develop your teaching skills, cross-cultural awareness and understanding of how both content and language can be taught and learned in interaction with your own learners.
