Outdoor Education KPZ

Teaching outdoors: from struck to confident and in action!

Study and make new friends with different backgrounds from a variety of countries. Become educated at authentic locations. Learn about the world as a classroom. Take part in projectweeks, have fun with other students, work towards Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) and think about a more sustainable world. Sounds interesting? Read the following information.

For this minor we choose to focus on an outdoor learning environment. We are convinced that learning experiences should not be limited to the classroom. Learning should take place in the world. Therefore, children/youth should gain learning experiences in a variety of contexts. For us, outdoor is not limited to activities in the open air. Activities can also take place in a museum, in football stadium or in store

In the Minor Outdoor Education for World Citizenship, we use the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a framework to work towards Agency. Children learn to deal and interact with nature, water, energy and health as well as with people with different cultural backgrounds, gender differences and poverty issues in a responsible, critical and authentic way.

The module includes a week-long fieldtrip as well as several day trips, during which the students get a chance to learn more about the industry from professionals. These trips are compulsory and entail extra costs. The total costs depends on the size of the group and the exact program, which may vary from year to year.
