Newways Training Company: practical experience in (business) events and travel.

Are you good at making things easier? Then join our Newways Training Company in your last year of study. A great opportunity to level your skills and start your career by organising field trips, events and seminars in the field of travel & business events.

What is it all about?
As a student doing a minor at Newways Training Company you organise field trips, congresses and events, such as Industry Days, Consumer Behaviour in Tourism Symposium and the Corporate Travel Symposium. In this way, you will learn to run a business! Next to that, you are - together with your colleagues - responsible for running the Newways Travel Desk and arrange all business trips for employees of Breda University of Applied Sciences.

What‘s in it for me?
By doing so, you gain a lot of experience and expand your professional network in the leisure & tourism industry, which can be very helpful in your future career. It is a valuable year in which you work hard on your personal development. And what’s more, you are regularly ‘on the road’ - when possible and needed also abroad - and working as an event manager.

How about my graduation?
In case you are a student from the Academy for Tourism, you will graduate with a portfolio. In this portfolio you demonstrate your knowledge and skills gained via the projects (e.g. events/field trips) you worked on during your traineeship at Newways Training Company. So if you are a practical oriented student, take this chance to graduate with a portfolio instead of a thesis.

In case you are a student from another academy than the Academy for Tourism, the following applies: In addition to all those great activities, your graduation criteria are determined by your own study programme.

Leerdoelen

  • Running a business with (considerable) responsibility and autonomy
  • Creating / improving organisational and communication skills
  • Personal development (partly) driven on your own demand

To achieve these goals, Newways Training Company provides:

  • One year of work experience, solely with real life assignments
  • Personal and intensive coaching ‘on the job’
  • A professional work environment with great colleagues!

Sophie, a former Newways employee about her experiences at Newways Training Company:  During my Newways year I organised several field trips (even one to China!) and events (I remember the Everything Procedural Conference for the Academy for Games and Media, which was quite a challenge). All this practical experience was of added value in finding a job after my studies. I now work as a groups & incentives project manager in a great company.
