The Minor High Tech and Innovation in Horticulture (AHTI) offers a comprehensive exploration of modern horticulture, combining advanced plant production techniques with business management, financial insight, and sustainability strategies. Students work with real-world companies, participate in excursions, and apply theory to practice in consultancy projects. The minor equips students to become versatile horticultural professionals, ready to manage production, advise companies, and drive innovation in the global agro-food sector.

Leerdoelen

At the end of this minor, the student is able to:

  • Act as an agricultural extension officer, horticultural consultant, or entrepreneur.
  • Integrate high-tech production knowledge with financial and strategic management.
  • Evaluate and advise on crop production systems, postharvest quality, and export requirements.
  • Develop labour plans and assess efficiency in horticultural settings.
  • Formulate sustainable and socially responsible business strategies.
  • Prepare strategic and operational plans for business development in the agro-food sector.

Ingangseisen

  • Minimum of two years of a relevant bachelor program (horticulture, plant sciences, agri-business).
  • Good command of English (B2 level recommended).
