Are you interested in applying engineering solutions and principles to health care and its related industries? Then BioMedical Engineering is the perfect programme for you. You will become an expert in improving health care diagnosis, monitoring and therapy. You will combine engineering design and problem-solving skills with biomedical sciences.
The focus of this programme lies on designing and producing medical devices either for diagnosis or treatment. You will learn to design and develop applications that will literally come in contact with people. These relate to surgical equipment, biomedical instrumentation and orthopaedic devices.

Propeduetic degree (of the bachelor) in Mechanics/Mechatronics/Electronics + 48EC from the 2nd year (excluding any internships)

Students with Mechanical background will have partially other subjects then the ones with Electronics background.
Fulltime daytime education in semester 1
Lectures and workshop are given at the UAS in Assen, which is approximately 20 minutes from Groningen by train. Students must be prepared to either find/accept accommodation in Assen, or be aware of additional costs of daily travel from Groningen to Assen.
Excursions will be part of the programme and are at different locations in the neighbourhood. Depending on the project, you probably have to visit your client at regular times as well.
